If you flew over California this summer, you may have seen the word TIME written in the sky. No, it wasn’t your farewell remnants with Brandon mixed up with the altitude that played tricks on you… But the TIME® magazine’s team in full performance of a “bright” show. In partnership with Intel®, they coordinated about 1000 drones (958 to be exact but nobody is here to count, right?) to form the word “TIME” with its emblematic red and white lines. The magazine wanted to illustrate the exponential growth of these small flying robots. You are no longer alone and we are watching you! It’s far from the time when “E.T. phoned home” and terrified us with his little luminous finger in the sky.
FYI: Intel® had already realized this performance for the opening of the Olympics Games of Pyeongchang with 1,200 drones. What’s next?
