Graphic Design for Law Firms: The Example of Belaws

Belaws is a legal advisory firm focused on the South-East Asian markets. With a digital platform supported by around a hundred lawyers, it helps its clients with all their administrative procedures, from setting up a business to obtaining licences and resolving disputes. With its business growing rapidly, Belaws needed to rethink its website and client area to incorporate new features while improving overall usability.

Ux & Ui : The Legal Platform Approach

In the legal field, the hierarchy of information and clarity are paramount. A legal platform has to manage large volumes of data, and each user (start-up founder, company director, advisor, etc.) requires a tailored interface. The design project carried out with Belaws therefore focused on :

  1. General ergonomics : The home, consultation and form pages have been redesigned to make them easier to read and more intuitive, despite the density of information.
  2. Profile navigation : Thanks to clear segmentation, each type of user can access the content that corresponds to them, reducing cognitive overload and making the experience more fluid.
  3. Visual consistency : The graphic design for a law firm must inspire confidence. Graphic elements (typography, colours, icons) are selected to give an impression of seriousness and professionalism.

Integrating new functionalities without sacrificing clarity

One of the major challenges of this redesign was to add functionalities (case tracking, live chat, document management, etc.) without making the platform too cumbersome. This is where the importance of a well thought-out UX/UI design comes into its own:

  • Advanced case filtering : Enabling users to find legal answers tailored to their country, sector or specific legal issue.
  • Customised dashboards : Simplify the presentation of documents, deadlines and contacts for each customer.
  • Structuring content : Organise text and visuals in order of importance (headings, sub-headings, boxes) to guide the user's eye and avoid the "block of text" effect.

In short, Graphic Design applied to law firms goes far beyond mere aesthetics: it is an essential lever for facilitating access to information, reinforcing credibility and offering an optimal customer experience in a field where rigour remains the watchword. This collaboration with Belaws illustrates the importance of a thoughtful redesign, combining a user-friendly approach with relevant visual solutions to support the growth of an ambitious legal platform.
